Life Sciences Express is a cloud-based enterprise solution providing access to secure content that resides in an on premises repository.  LS Express is optimized for Life Sciences research and development use cases, ranging from drug discovery to regulatory approval.  There are three primary activities on which LS Express focuses:
• Efficiently discovering and completing tasks, most often reviewing and approving documents

Guiding Principles of the Design

Meaningful experience tailored to Life Sciences professionals.  Mental model must fit expectations of Life Sciences professionals.  Users should recognize the items and terminology with which they are accustomed.  Avoid default product terminology and defer to LS taxonomy as much as possible.
Lead with simplicity, while making complex features available.  Progressive disclosure.  Provide a modern, clean experience.  Life Sciences processes and activities are inherently complex, so progressively disclose the complexity where possible.
Go beyond constraints of the underlying platform. Honor the constraints and configuration of the back-end system, while still providing a cohesive, intuitive experience.  The backend system provides a lot of power and capabilities, so respect it, but don't be beholden to it.
